There was a recent upsurge of cats getting neurological symptoms such as tremors, vomiting and seizures. These were related to exposure of spot on insecticide that promise elimination of annoying parasites.
For your information, certain insecticide is poisonous to cats. In this case its Pyrethroid. Its widely use in manufacturing of insecticide for domestic pets. However, its only indicated for dogs only and if use on cats, there will be deadly effect.
Physiologically, cats is different from dogs. Cats do not have the specific liver enzyme to metabolise pyrethroid. Therefore, having to use such medication, cats will develop toxicity and may lead to fatal consequences.
Hence, do be careful before applying any insecticide on your cats.
