Often times, dogs show signs of atopic dermatitis anywhere from 3 months to 6 years of age. Usually, owners themselves are not aware of even their dogs having this diseas in the beginning stages, it can appear and seem quite mild in nature, hardly noticeable.

The skin reacts through rashes, itchiness, and swollen, reddened areas. If it is not cared for properly, skin with dermatitis will blister and develop crusty flakes which can be physically uncomfortable for your pets.
While this is often associated with humans, it is very normal for dogs to get an atopic dermatitis.

Constant rubbing and licking

Causes of Dermatitis
This disease can come from a wide variety of things. Often times it is most commonly associated with genetics or family history. This is why it is good to always get an initial check-up to understand your pets health background before bringing them into your home. Some other causes may include:
Moldy spores from indoor or outdoor
Airborne pollegen (grass, trees, etc.)
